Prospect to Know 2024: QB Tyler Bush

While most freshmen typically try to ease their way into high school football, Tyler Bush is taking a different route. The talented class of 2024 prospect has entrenched himself in a quarterback battle at Michigan City High School in Indiana. Bush is attempting to unseat an upperclassman and become the varsity starter.

“My goal for this season Is to be the starter on varsity by the end of the season,” said Bush.

The right-handed quarterback travels from Indiana to Illinois on a weekly basis to compete with the 14u Midwest BOOM program. He recently led the 14U program to a National Championship while being named the overall tournament MVP.

“I tried out for BOOM because it is good off-season training. I like 7-on-7 because we get to travel and hangout with different teammates.”

Bush is at his best when he can take what the defense gives him and quickly deliver the ball to his receivers. Even at a young age he knows when to throw the ball with different velocities.

“Best advice a BOOM coach has given me is to not try to be someone else and play my game.”

At the end of the tackle season in Indiana, Bush will once again return to BOOM with the hopes of capturing another national championship. If he is able to capture a 15u national title he will be joining the likes Greg Newsome (Northwestern) and Derric Lee (Columbia) as the only athletes in the program to win national titles at multiple levels.
