2023 Naperville North quarterback Aidan Gray has had an eventful few months. Gray is a standout athlete who balances football, basketball and training sessions for different teams. Once his spring football season was complete, he shifted his focus to competing with BOOM football.
Acceleration at the Yard Director of Sports Performance Jeff Richardson has been working with Gray since November of 2014. Over the years, Richardson has seen the talented quarterback complete over 300 training sessions.
He’s got an incredible work ethic. Does the right things, stays out of trouble, he’s all you could ask for as a leader,” said Richardson.
Gray stands 6-foot-2 and has a strong arm that allows him to stretch the full field. He has recently taken his talents on the road to compete at different college camps across the country.
On Thursday evening he received his first scholarship offer from Western Michigan University.
“Coach Evans was the coach that offered me, I also got to work with him at the camp on drops and different footwork drills,” said Gray.
“My initial reaction was very excited, coming from a great school like Western Michigan.”
He has been in communication with the Western Michigan staff for several weeks now and was eager to make a trip to Kalamazoo.
“I wanted to go to the Western Michigan camp because talking to their coaching staff made me very interested in their program. The connection with their players is something that also made me very interested in their school.”
After receiving his initial scholarship offer from Western Michigan, he picked up an offer from Eastern Illinois University.
“The staff from Western Michigan and Eastern Illinois have given me great feedback on my mechanics and accuracy, I can’t wait to work with them more in the future.”
Gray will head to Nashville this weekend to compete at the Vanderbilt football camp.
