Best of the Best Showcase Preview

The Midwest BOOM Best of the Best Winter Showcase will take place from 5:30-9:30 (central) today. This event will have combine testing along with skill and positional drills. Linemen will also have opportunity to square off against one another during the Trench Warfare portion of the event. The showcase will take place at the SpartaDome in Crown Point, IN.

With high school football being postponed in Illinois until the spring of 2021, BOOM Football has found creative ways for athletes to stay busy. The Best of the Midwest Showcase will provide some of the top athletes in the area an opportunity to compete against one another.

Prospects to Watch:

ATH Kaleb Brown (2022) St. Rita H.S.

Brown is no stranger to BOOM events, he has won the overall MVP award in the past. Brown is currently the No.1 overall prospect in Illinois and will be participating in the 2022 All-American Bowl. He is being coveted by Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Alabama to name a few.

WR Carnell Tate (2023) Marist H.S.

Tate exploded onto the scene this offseason with strong outings on the 7-on-7 circuit. His advanced route running, and ball skills separate him from other athletes his age. He holds offers from the likes of Notre Dame, Michigan, Minnesota, Purdue and Iowa.

WR Malik Elzy (2023) Simeon H.S.

Elzy is a big bodied receiver who continues to improve as a pass catcher. Michigan extended an early offer to him at the end of his freshman season. Expect for him to win a majority of his 1-v-1 matchups.

ATH I’Marion Stewart (2024) Bolingbrook H.S.

Stewart has yet to play a snap of high school football but that did not stop Arizona State from extending an offer. He has been selected to participate in the Freshman All-American Bowl later this month in Naples, FL.

QB Nick Brown (2023) Taft

Brown has spent his offseason training in Illinois prepping for his season at Taft. He is expected to be one of the top quarterbacks in attendance after a strong performance at an Elite 11 regional camp this fall.

OT Miles McVay (2023) East St. Louis

McVay is a massive lineman at 6'7" 345 who can move well for his size. Holds multiple offers, including Arizona State, Florida, & Georgia. It will be interested to see if any DL can get through him at tonights camp.

Other Notables:

ATH Kaleb Miller (2023) Nazareth Academy

WR Trell Harris (2022) Nazareth Academy

WR Carter Sessa (2022) Neuqua Valley H.S.

DB Cameron Pickett (2022) Brooks H.S.
