2022 Wide Receiver Tyler Morris Checks In

Tyler Morris is considered not only one of the top prospects in Illinois but one of the elite athletes in the nation. He holds early offers from the likes of Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Michigan State to name a few. Morris is at the top of many recruiting boards and is working on getting more comfortable with programs.

“I’ve been talking to Penn State, Purdue, Michigan, Northwestern and Missouri the most,” said Morris.

While the country continues to adjust to the new normal recruits have also had to adjust their summers plans. Morris originally had plans to visit Missouri and Penn State but was forced to put those plans on hold with the extended recruiting dead period.

“I haven’t taken any virtual visits, but our conversations have been about getting on campus once all this clears up.”

Morris has had weekly conversations with the Unive

rsity of Michigan and Missouri while Penn State looks to inch closer to the top of his list of college options.

“Schools are telling about the opportunities they can give me and trying to build a better relationship.”

The talented wideout will be taking on a new role at Nazareth Academy this season. He will be called upon to be more of a vocal leader and face of the program now that quarterback JJ McCarthy has transferred to IMG Academy.

“I have to step up earlier than expected but it’s not too much because I feel ready for this. This is something we must adapt to and move forward with.”

The duo of McCarthy and Morris could be reunited on the playing field in 2 years if Morris decides to join his former quarterback at the University of Michigan. The Wolverines have made him a priority target for the class of 2022.

Before Morris shifted his focus to his high school, he competed in one final 7v7 tournament with BOOM.  He has been a member of the program since he was in middle school and has become one of the top players within the organization.

“BOOM provides an opportunity to compete with all the best kids in the area while being able to travel to go against all the big players from the other states to compete against them as well.”
